Tours of The Gamble House

1-hour Docent Guided Tours

First tour at 12 noon, last tour at 3pm.

& Friday
Guided tours every 30 minutes.
Ticket sales start at 10am.
Saturday
Guided tours every 15 minutes.
Ticket sales start at 10am.
Sunday Guided tours every 15 minutes.
Ticket sales start at 11:30am.
Monday -
Wednesday
No general tours. Group & special tours by advanced reservation only.

Docent guided tours are the only way to see the House interior.

Tickets are sold on tour days in the Bookstore.

  • Please arrive early, especially on weekends, to avoid disappointment.
  • A limited number of tickets are sold each tour day.
  • Flat shoes are required; slippers will be provided for those in heels.
  • No interior photography allowed.
  • Closed on major holidays: New Year’s Day, Easter Sunday, 4th of July, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day.

Reservations for the 2pm Tour

Reservation are accepted for the 2pm docent-guided tour each tour day (Thursday-Sunday). Make reservations at least 1 week in advance. $12.50 per person, prepaid by Visa/MasterCard. Call (626) 793-3334, Monday–Friday 9am–4pm Pacific time.

Group Tours by Reservation

Groups of 10 or more require reservations at least 1 month in advance. Group tour hours and fees vary from our regular schedule. $12.50 per person, prepaid by Visa or MasterCard.

Focus Tours by Reservation

  • NEW! Fire & Light (2 hours)— Glass artist John Hamm leads our newest in-depth tour exploring the exquisite leaded art glass in the House. $40.
  • Behind the Velvet Ropes (2½ hours) — An extended in-depth tour that visits all parts of the house. $40.
  • Details & Joinery (3 hours) — Led by contemporary woodworker Jim Ipekjian, this in-depth tour is focused on the fine details of wood craftsmanship. $75.
  • Arroyo Terrace Walking (1¼ hour) — visit our neighborhood, a National Register historic district that is home to 9 Greene & Greene houses as well as the works of other noted architects. $15.

Our Arroyo Terrace Walking Tour takes you through a National Register historic district containing 9 Greene & Greene houses.

Enjoy Lunch Outside - Brown Bag Tuesdays

On Brown-Bag Tuesdays, bring your own lunch and join us on the rear lawn and terrace from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.; and take a short 20-minute docent-led tour.
